In my role as a coach I use counselling skills, coaching and management development techniques in an integrated way that allows me to be flexible and adaptable to the needs of my clients. This is to provide you with a framework within which you can develop clarity around your goals and how you are going to achieve these as well as the actions required. My role is to provide support, encouragement and challenge you. Coaching is a partnership of equals that is based on openness, honesty and trust.
During my career in the NHS I worked as a Management Development Consultant where I mentored and coached on a range of National Leadership Programmes. This was followed by a period of time where I was the manager of the National Management Training scheme for NHS Scotland. As part of this role I had the pleasure and opportunity to coach many hundreds of new graduates joining the NHS. Following this I worked in a range of strategic projects, Human Resources and Leadership Development, coaching a range of senior managers and medical professionals.
In the role of Coach, I use a variety of psychological approaches and tools when working with clients to support them. This helped them to build on their existing strengths and develop new areas for personal growth and making sustainable changes.
